It’s week 5 of the Pat’s Run 42 in 40 Challenge! When you registered for this challenge, you were supporting our mission to unite and empower service members, veterans and spouses. Did you know that you were also challenging yourself to live a healthier lifestyle?

Our friends at Banner Health provided some insight on how your movement in this challenge can boost your overall health!

Performing at least 2.5-5 hours per week of moderate-intensity physical activity (like walking, running, hiking!) throughout the week can lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and numerous other health issues! There is no specific threshold that must be reached before we feel the positive effects of exercise, but be sure to stay hydrated before, during and after your activity!

If you have any known health conditions, it is strongly recommended to speak with your physician before starting any new program. We thank you for boosting your quality of life while supporting PTF and our remarkable Tillman Scholars!
