Lydia Short holds a Master of Social Work and a Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she was also a participant in the Child Welfare Education Collaborative (CWEC).
Her professional social work career includes roles as a permanency caseworker with the Maine Office of Child and Family Services, an outpatient child and family therapist, and currently, as the Clinical Coordinator for the day treatment and composite classrooms at Medomak Middle School in Waldoboro, Maine. In this role, Lydia provides counseling and coordinates care for over 20 middle school students with emotional or intellectual disabilities, while also supervising six Behavioral Health Professionals.
Outside of work, Lydia is a dedicated step-parent, parent, and spouse. She enjoys playing the double bass and exploring the Maine woods.
