Mary Tunberg

As an ASU alum, long time ASU Football Season ticket holder and Cardinal fan, Mary knew Pat from the stands. She was moved by his “magic” on the field and his decision to leave the field. Mary participated in the first few Pat’s Runs until an injury before the 5th kept her out of the race, but decided to volunteer.

Mary’s hard work, passion for the event, and the people that come to support it made her an invaluable asset. She started working the volunteer check-in tent for the next 3 years which has continued to evolve over the years. When Mary retired in 2019, she zeroed in on how she could help the Foundation and the Pat’s Run team streamline and improve volunteer and task management. Mary has worked every volunteer position over the years and understands just what is needed to ensure volunteers have meaningful work and race participants have the best experience possible.

Mary joins the Pat Tillman Foundation as the Volunteer Coordinator for Pat’s Run on a seasonal basis. Mary is so grateful for her “Volunteer Army” and enjoys working with the people who care, work hard and are nothing short of awesome!
