Everything You Need to Know for Race Day
Pat’s Run 2021, presented by TEKsystems, is the signature fundraiser for the Pat Tillman Foundation’s Tillman Scholars program. We’re so happy that you’re joining our virtual event on April 24, 2021 (although you can participate anytime between April 23 and April 25 for maximum flexibility).
On this page, you’ll see everything you need to know to have a safe, successful and most of all fun race day!
Track Your Results with RaceJoy
Race Joy is the official app for the 17th Annual Pat’s Run! Follow your fellow runners or ask spectators to track you while on your walk or run! Make sure to download the app before race day so that you’re all set to go at 7:05 a.m. MDT on April 24.
IMPORTANT: Your bib number is not 2021. To get your bib number, go to your RunSignUp profile, select “17th Annual Pat’s Run, presented by TEKsystems,” and click “Manage Registration.” You’ll find your digital bib number there.
- Download RaceJoy: Download the RaceJoy app to your smartphone or tablet from the App Store or GooglePlay.
- Find Race: Click Featured Races and then access your event. Or search for 17th Annual Pat’s Run in the search field.
- Phone Set Up: Follow the prompts carefully to get set up properly for race day.
- Race Day: Turn tracking ON in RaceJoy and click Start My Race to begin your personal race clock. Your results will upload automatically!
Race Swag Shipping Information
The 2021 Pat’s Run race tee is a technical t-shirt inspired by Arizona State University’s Desert Storm football uniforms with a matching medal and bib showcasing this year’s theme, “Give ‘Em Hell.”
If you registered before April 1, and you haven’t received your items by race day, please check the tracking information sent to you via email. If you registered after April 1, we can’t guarantee that you’ll receive your items before race day, but we will do our best to get them to you as quickly as possible.
Visit the Pat’s Run Expo
Check out our Virtual Village at the Pat’s Run Expo! The virtual expo will be open April 19–May 1 (check each day to see hours). Come here on race day to see the official results, sponsored by U-Haul! Browse booths from our sponsors and enjoy special offers and incentives, then and check out the Pat Tillman Foundation booth! We’ll have limited edition gear that you can only find at the PTF Store in the Expo Center, including t-shirts and our new PTF coffee mugs.

Perry vs. Dan: Which Speedster Reigns Supreme?
Pat Tillman was a fighter. He embraced tenacity, and he never gave up. He established himself at ASU as a competitive force, and loved to challenge himself physically. In the spirit of friendly competition — a perfect way to honor Pat’s legacy, if we say so ourselves — Pat’s Run founder and original race director Perry Edinger and Pat Tillman Foundation CEO and 2011 Tillman Scholar Dan Futrell have agreed to race each other in the 2021 Pat’s Run for charity.
Place your bets today on who wins: the founder or the CEO! Name your champion with your donation. All dollars raised support the Pat Tillman Foundation and the Tillman Scholars program. Thank you for your support and let us know if you’re Team Dan or Team Perry — whatever you choose, you’re Team PTF!
Pat’s Run FAQs
What Is Pat's Run?
When Will I Receive My 2021 Pat’s Run T-shirt, Bib and Medal?
We began shipping race packets in mid-March in order of registration. You will receive a tracking notification to the email you used during registration when your race packet ships. Thank you for your support!
- Ship by household: You can have your race packets shipped to your household, rather than individually. So if two people from the same family register, we can send your race packets together.
- Mail tracking: You will be sent a tracking number as soon as your packet ships so you can see where it is.
- Shipping costs: Shipping and handling will be a flat fee: $6 per registrant in the U.S., $11 CAN / MX and $20 elsewhere in the world
How Can I Track the Event? And What's RaceJoy?
This year, we will be using the RaceJoy app, which allows us to create a more personalized and fuller race experience. You’ll be able to send cheers to others running or walking Pat’s Run, hear from sponsors and special guests along the course and more! We will be sending details on how to download and use RaceJoy to all registrants in early April.
When Is Pat's Run?
What Is the Pat's Run Challenge Series?
Why Is Pat's Run Virtual?
In partnership with the City of Tempe, Arizona State University and our presenting sponsor TEKsystems, we’ve made a joint decision to hold Pat’s Run virtually on April 24, 2021. Given the rising of COVID-19 rates in Arizona, decisions by similar-sized races and advice from our local, state and university public safety advisors, we made this decision to prioritize the health and safety of our runners, our volunteers and the community that continues to support education and leadership development for Tillman Scholars.
Is My Pat’s Run Entry Fee Tax Deductible?
Per IRS regulations, individual registration fees for the event are not tax-deductible (due to goods and services received). Please note, any donations or pledges over and above the registration fee are tax-deductible. All Team Tillman Pat’s Run donations are tax-deductible.
What Does Pat’s Run Support?
Pat’s Run is the signature annual fundraiser for the Pat Tillman Foundation. Proceeds from Pat’s Run directly support the Foundation’s Tillman Scholars program. Tillman Scholars are veterans, active service members and their spouses who are committed to service and community. Tillman Scholarships can be used at academic institutions across the country.
