Pat’s Run Race Weekend Is Here!

Blog | 04/23/2021

Stretch out your hamstrings and put on your official t-shirt — the 17th Annual Pat’s Run, presented by TEKsystems, kicks off today with more than 20,000 runners and walkers committed to putting up 4.2 miles this weekend. Pat’s Run is the Pat Tillman Foundation’s signature fundraiser, benefitting the Tillman Scholars program, a group of nearly 700 servicemen and women and military spouses committed to leadership through action. If you have yet to register, it’s not too late — registration is open through Sunday at PatsRun.com.

Here are a few things you need to know before you hit the virtual trail:

How to Track Your Results

Runners can download RaceJoy, the official app to track your results this year, from the App Store or Google Play.  Once the app is downloaded, you can find Pat’s Run by tapping “Featured Races” or by searching “17th Annual Pat’s Run.” After selecting, you will have the option of being a “Participant,” who wants to track their own results, or a “Spectator,” who wants to track a participating runner’s progress, send a cheer, or receive progress alerts at every mile.

If you are a participant, be sure to turn tracking ON in RaceJoy, then tap “Start My Race” to begin your personal race clock before you hit the trail. Results will be uploaded automatically as you complete the run.

To see your official results, sponsored by U-Haul, visit the Pat’s Run Expo. While you’re there, visit virtual booths to check out special offers from our sponsors. Be sure to visit the Pat Tillman Foundation booth to learn more about our scholars and see exclusive items in our shop.

Share Your Pat’s Run Experience

We love seeing how you celebrate Pat’s legacy and our Tillman Scholars! Be sure to upload and share photos from your race through RunSignUp, sponsored by Navy Federal Credit Union. You can access and share photos in one of three ways:

  • Upload your photos through RaceJoy after you submit your results.
  • Visit the Pat’s Run page on RunSignUp and choose the Photos tab. At this step, runners are able to look up your results, search their name and click the photos link to find their shots.
  • Look up your results, search your name and click the Photos link. For every participant who tags @WhiteClaw while using the hashtag #WhiteClawPatsRun on their social media posts, White Claw will donate $1 to our foundation, up to $4,500.

Then, be sure to share your photos on your own social media!

Connect with Other Pat’s Run Participants

One of the best parts of Pat’s Run is how it brings our community together. We can’t all be together in Tempe, but we can share our race day experiences! Tune in to our live stream at our Race Day Website on Saturday, starting at 7 a.m., with a welcome from PTF board members Alex Garwood and Ben Hill, then hear from scholars and Pat’s Run participants throughout the morning.

If you live in the Phoenix area, tune into Good Morning Arizona on AZ Family, beginning at 6 a.m. with a live broadcast from Rula Bula in Tempe. Tillman Scholar Steve Skiano will perform the national anthem and they’ll check in with participants throughout the day, including our race starters, Steve and Sherry Delvecchio.

Rula Bula will open at 10 a.m. and offer breakfast burritos until 11 a.m., with a toast to pat at noon, Phoenix time.
