Today, the Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF) announced a match for its annual giving campaign, called “Leadership Matters.” Donations to the Leadership Matters campaign will be matched up to $75,000, thanks to TEK Systems and an anonymous benefactor. Funds raised by Dec. 31, 2020, support the foundation’s mission to unite and empower a diverse community of remarkable veterans and military spouses.

“As our nation faces some of its greatest challenges, we see how much leadership through action matters, especially in times of crisis,” said Dan Futrell, CEO and 2011 Tillman Scholar. “Our nearly 700 scholars have led their communities through all of the crises this year has thrown at us, whether it’s the fight against COVID, systemic racial injustice, economic instability, political polarization or environmental disasters. With this campaign, we honor the leadership they have all shown, while also ensuring support for future Tillman Scholars.”

Each year, PTF selects 60 scholars from an applicant pool of thousands of remarkable U.S. service members, veterans and military spouses and supports them as they enter their next chapter with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development and access to a global community of high-performing peers and mentors. To date, PTF has invested more than $20 million in scholar support and named nearly 700 Tillman Scholars at more than 100 academic institutions nationwide.
