Registration Open for Pat’s Run 42 in 40 Challenge

If you feel like the stay-at-home effects of COVID-19 has hindered your motivation to get out and move (no judgement!), the Pat Tillman Foundation has a brand new virtual event on the horizon to get you moving and support our Tillman Scholars! The Pat’s Run 42 in 40 Challenge is a fun, new activity to complete 42 miles in 40 days to support our Tillman Scholars program. 

The Pat’s Run 42 in 40 Challenge is an extension of the ever-popular Pat’s Run, which began in 2004. From Oct. 3 to Veterans’ Day (Nov. 11), runners and walkers across the country will be virtually participating in the 42 for 40 Challenge,42 commemorating Pat Tillman’s number from his time at Arizona State University and 40 to acknowledge a Cardinals.his time with the Arizona Cardinals. 

Registration for the run begins on September 26 on Strava where participants can log their progress throughout the 40 days. Once you have signed up to participate on Strava, head to RunSignUp to complete your registration and get the official Pat Tillman Foundation t-shirt. .

In addition, participants can win prizes throughout the 40-day challenge event:  

• Walkers and runners who raise $150 or more during the challenge or refer 5 people to the to sign up for the challenge on RunSignUp will also receive a Pat Tillman Foundation hat
• Participants who share photos of their miles on Instagram with the hashtag #42in40 will be eligible to win one of two Apple Watches, which we’ll give away at random after  the challenge’s completion

Proceeds from this event go to support the Tillman Scholars program. Our foundation unites and empowers remarkable service members, veterans and military spouses, providing scholarships, leadership development and a global community of peers as the next generation of leaders.
