Like Pat Tillman, Brandon Moore felt a calling to serve — both in and out of uniform.

The first of his family to attend college, Brandon graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served in the U.S. Army as a pilot. After his military service concluded, Brandon still felt a strong desire to serve his country. With support from the Pat Tillman Foundation, he enrolled in Harvard Kennedy School’s joint MPP/MBA program to prepare for a career in public service.

During his time at Harvard, Brandon gained hands-on experience in state government and public policy, all while balancing the demands of his dual degree. Through the Tillman Scholar community, he was also able to connect with a network of like-minded individuals who share his passion for service. “The Pat Tillman Foundation has provided a sense of deep camaraderie with fellow veterans dedicated to making the world a better place and paying it forward,” he says.

This past May, Brandon completed his degree and graduated from Harvard. He now plans to return to his home state of Connecticut to serve in the state government and help shape meaningful policies. “I cherish my time in the military, but I see my lifelong career of public service transitioning to state-level policymaking in Connecticut,” he tells Harvard Business School.
