Pat Tillman: 20 Years, One Legacy.

Twenty years after Pat Tillman’s passing, his legacy lives on through a strong network of nearly 1,000 Tillman Scholars, family, friends, and individuals who embody the values he stood for: scholarship, humble leadership, service beyond self, and impact. 

To honor the 20th anniversary, we’re sharing personal stories and reflections from those who knew Pat best, highlighting his athleticism, curiosity for learning, genuine care for others, commitment to hard work, and consistent ability to make a difference in the lives of others.

“As we reflect on Pat’s life, we want to help people truly get to know him on a deeper level — not just as an athlete or a soldier, but as the person who inspired so many,” said Dr. Katherine Steele, CEO of the Pat Tillman Foundation and 2014 Tillman Scholar. “This campaign honors his enduring legacy and shows how it continues to live on through 931 Tillman Scholars who are all dedicated to making an impact in the world around them.”

We had the privilege of interviewing some remarkable individuals who were closely connected to Pat, including former teammates, friends, and those who have carried forward his spirit in their own lives.
