Chief Warrant Officer 4 Natasha Ryan joined the Army in 1999 and completed basic training and AIT at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She began her military career with the 718th Transportation Battalion in Columbus, Ohio, and has since served in various roles and locations, including deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.
During her service, Natasha worked at the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, supporting humanitarian aid. Inspired by female pilots she met while serving in South Korea, she submitted a flight packet and was accepted into Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, in 2007. She then served as a Blackhawk pilot with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, and later, with the 1st Armored Division, where she evacuated wounded soldiers in Afghanistan.
Natasha currently flies UH-60M Blackhawks out of Savannah, Georgia, as the Aviation Safety Officer for the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. She is also a member of the Assistant Secretary of the Army’s Women’s Initiatives Team.
Natasha holds a Bachelor’s in Aeronautics and a Master’s in Occupational Safety Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the latter of which she completed with support from the Pat Tillman Foundation. Natasha’s awards include the Air Medal with numeral 3, the Meritorious Service Medal, and Senior Aviator Wings, among others.
