After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004, Melissa Chuongvan-Roy served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the Army for 11 years, including two deployments to Iraq. During her time in the Army, she held positions such as medical company commander, clinic-level administrator and hospital-level Department Chief of the Clinical Operations Division.

Melissa went on to earn dual Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from Baylor University, as well as a Master’s in Public Health from American Public University. She utilized her Tillman Scholarship while attending medical school at Yale University, ultimately graduating in May 2020. She previously served as the Chief Emergency Medicine Resident at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT, and is now working as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, CT.
