LaChiana Hamilton

Army
University of South Florida
M.S., Nursing

“Dedicated to serving the socioeconomically disadvantaged in achieving positive health outcomes.”

LaChiana received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida in August 2014 and determined that she wanted to continue her journey. Immediately after graduating, she enrolled at the University of South Florida Doctor of Nursing Practice program with a concentration in pediatrics. She graduated in December 2016.

LaChiana served in the United States Army for 11 years as a contracting officer and a human resource officer. Following that career, she worked as a Director of Service Support in a Defense Contracting Company where she specialized in developing standards of operations and improving employee performance. LaChiana left her career to care for her son after he underwent open heart surgery. That event led LaChiana to pursue a career in nursing. LaChiana believes that nursing is a service-oriented profession, and deeply desire to become a “provider of choice” after she graduates from nursing school, as this will allow her to serve others in the same capacity in which was served by countless medical professionals.

LaChiana lives in Riverview, Florida with her husband who is currently serving in the United States Army, and their two children.
