“People like to talk about problems, but I think that there is strength through trauma.”

Liz O’Herrin Lee has over 15 years of partnerships, program management, event planning, and business operations experience. She currently manages strategic product partnerships at the people platform company Gusto.

Liz received her B.A. in Communication Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her M.A. in Government from the Johns Hopkins University. She served with the Wisconsin Air National Guard from 2001-2008 and deployed to the Middle East three times. She also co-founded Student Veterans of America, a national nonprofit with over 2,000 chapters, and worked with a dedicated team to help pass the Post-9/11 GI Bill in 2008 — the most comprehensive veteran education benefits since 1944.

In her spare time she and her husband are amateur naturalists and parents to a strong willed toddler, Loretta. She is a published essayist and a proud 2010 Tillman Scholar.
