Brandon Hammond’s motivation for pursuing a career as a physician in a rural under-served community originates from his childhood experiences on his family’s tobacco farm. Brandon credits his military service with providing the education, life challenges and commitment to purpose in order to pursue his dream. After training at the U.S. Naval Academy, Brandon completed graduate work in economics and international business followed by practical logistical experience as a Navy Supply Corps officer on-board the USS Ronald Reagan, in Kuwait, and in Washington, DC. Now as a veteran and a medical student at the University of Arizona, Brandon plans to incorporate his military experience, economics and business background, and interest in global health to impact healthcare here at home, as well as aid delivery abroad in humanitarian crisis situations.
Brandon aspires to incorporate his Navy experience, and interest in economics, business, and global health to impact health care delivery to underserved both at home and abroad.
