HISTORY: Prior to joining the Army, Pat would often ride his bike to Rúla Búla during the day, sit in the dining room to relax and study his Cardinals playbook over a pint of Guinness. One day, he brought his own Imperial 20-oz Guinness pint glass to the pub engraved with his ASU football #42. He asked the bartender to keep the glass behind the bar where it was stored on the top shelf so it could easily be located when he stopped by for a pint.

Shortly after 9/11, Pat made the decision to leave behind his football career and join the Army Rangers. Prior to leaving, he came in for a pint and rather than take his #42 glass with him asked the bartender to keep it on the shelf because he would return again for a pint.

Pat’s pint glass remains on the shelf of Rúla Búla’s backbar today.
