After 350 tactical missions in Afghanistan, Felisa realized that the biggest enemy was the misunderstanding between Afghans and Americans. Now, with her PhD in Middle Eastern Literature, she is determined to knock down the barriers dividing civilians of both countries, using art and poetry to turn misunderstanding into understanding.
Having grown up in Chile, the United States, and then Kazakhstan, Felisa understands cultural barriers firsthand. She is proficient in five languages and runs the nonprofit organization Civil Vision International to connect and inspire citizens from all over the globe. “We find visionary people doing extraordinary things and promote them, highlight their work, and share it with the world.” Help support scholars like Felisa.
