2018 TILLMAN SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED

The Pat Tillman Foundation Invests More than $1.3 Million in Academic Scholarships to Empower Newest Class of Service Members, Veterans and Military Spouses

 

Chicago, IL (June 6, 2018) – Today, Marie Tillman, Board Chair and Co-Founder of the Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF), announced the names of the U.S. service members, veterans and military spouses chosen as 2018 Tillman Scholars – the 10th class of Tillman Scholars. In recognition of their service, leadership and potential, the newly selected class will receive more than $1.3 million in scholarship funding to pursue higher education and continue their service in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, technology, education and the arts. To date, PTF has invested more than $16 million in academic support, and named over 580 Tillman Scholars at over 100 academic institutions nationwide. From July 19-22 in Chicago, PTF will convene the 2018 Pat Tillman Leadership Summit powered by the NFL, bringing Tillman Scholars from around the U.S. to address some of the toughest challenges impacting the country and their communities.

The Tillman Scholars Program

Founded in 2008, the Tillman Scholars program supports our nation’s active duty service members, veterans and military spouses by investing in education and professional development. PTF provides academic scholarships, a national network and professional development opportunities, so Tillman Scholars are empowered to make an impact at home and around the world.

Each year, PTF is proud to collaborate with 15 University Partners to identify and select qualified candidates on their campuses for the Tillman Scholar screening process. These University Partners offer innovative, veteran-specific services and a strong culture of support for military veterans and spouses while providing rigorous academic experiences.
